Terms of Service
New Chapter Institute LLC · Last updated October 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of the Admin Skills Screen and the ScreenYourAdmin website at screenyouradmin.com (the "Service"), operated by New Chapter Institute LLC ("we", "us"). By creating an account, purchasing credits or creating a candidate code, you ("Customer") agree to these Terms on behalf of the organisation you represent.
1. What the Service is
The Admin Skills Screen is a short, supervised, recorded exercise made of everyday administrative tasks. It produces a score and a descriptive band for each attempt. It is a practical screening tool built from job tasks. It is not a cognitive-ability test, not a psychological or medical assessment, and it has not been validated by a criterion study. We make no representation that a score predicts job performance.
2. Customer makes every decision
The Service provides information only. Customer, and Customer alone, decides whether and how to use a result in any hiring, promotion, retention or other employment decision. Customer agrees that a result will be one input among others (such as an interview, references or a work trial), that no score or band will be used as a sole criterion or automatic cut-off, and that no decision will be delegated to the Service. The Service never accepts or rejects a candidate.
3. Customer's legal responsibilities
Customer is responsible for using the Service lawfully in every jurisdiction where its candidates are located, including:
- providing reasonable accommodation to candidates who request it (the Service offers extended time per attempt; Customer decides when to grant it);
- giving candidates any notice required by law before using an assessment or a recording, in addition to the consent the Service collects;
- complying with any law that regulates automated or algorithmic employment tools, including bias-audit and notice requirements where they apply (for example New York City Local Law 144). Customer must not use the Service for candidates in a jurisdiction where such a requirement applies unless Customer has satisfied it;
- monitoring its own selection rates for adverse impact where applicable law or good practice requires it, and informing us of any adverse-impact finding so the exercise can be examined;
- keeping candidate data it exports from the Service secure and using it only for the hiring process.
4. Supervision and recording
Each attempt is designed to be taken while a member of Customer's staff is present on a live video call, with a single-use access code handed to the candidate on that call. The candidate's camera, microphone and screen are recorded in the browser from the start of the attempt to its end, after the candidate has been told what is recorded and has consented and signed. Customer must not provide codes in advance, must not ask a candidate to start without consenting, and must keep recordings confidential and use them only to review the attempt. Recordings and consent records are retained with Customer's account and are not deleted when a candidate row is deleted.
5. Accounts and credits
Customer is responsible for its staff logins and for everything done under them. Credits are consumed when a candidate code is created, are not refundable once consumed, and expire 24 months after purchase. Prices are shown before purchase; payment is processed by Stripe and we do not store card numbers.
6. Acceptable use
Customer will not use the Service to screen for any protected characteristic, will not attempt to extract item content or answer logic, will not test a person without their knowledge, and will not resell access.
7. Our commitments and limits
We will run the Service with reasonable care and keep the exercise, scoring and documentation available for review on request. The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all other warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and any warranty about validity or predictive value, and our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount Customer paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
8. Indemnity
Customer will defend and indemnify New Chapter Institute LLC against claims arising from Customer's employment decisions, Customer's failure to meet its responsibilities in sections 2 to 4, or Customer's breach of these Terms.
9. Changes, termination, law
We may update these Terms with notice by email; continued use after the effective date is acceptance. Either party may close the account at any time; unused credits are forfeited on closure for breach. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and disputes are heard in its courts.
